✨Visit The Last LIGURIAN BEE SANCTUARY In The World ✨
The Kangaroo Island Bee Sanctuary is home to the last colony of Ligurian bees. Italian beekeepers brought the Italian queen bees back in the 1800s. And since the climate on Kangaroo Island is similar to that of the Mediterranean, the bees thrived! The South Australian Beekeepers Association do all that they can to ensure they this rare species of bee is protected. You can visit the island off the coast of Adelaide and take a beekeeping tour, to learn about the buzzing bees and their importance in nature!
